What is MediaVision?

MediaVision is a digital video production group that supports students and faculty at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Project

After moving from a suite in another facility to a warehouse on Cedar Avenue, directors and staff at MediaVision began to consider the possibility of reinventing their workspace. 

The Design Challenge

With little light and no exterior views, the relocation to a warehouse off campus proved to be less than ideal for MediaVision. Nevertheless, the space would also need to support the daily demands of live studio production and post production, include the latest technology to support a 24 hour operation with little maintenance, provide infrastructure necessary for satellite and microwave transmission, maintain access for loading and unloading equipment, and seamlessly integrate with the university's network. 

Our Solution

Through a collaborative process with directors and staff at MediaVision, we renovated the interior to create a flexible, multipurpose space including exposed utilities, cable trays, and a bright color palette derived from video test screens. .
