Cleveland Heights Lee Road Library

About Cleveland Heights Lee Road Library

The Lee Road library branch is part of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights library system. Not only is it the administrative headquarters of the library, but also a social hub for visitors of all ages.

Utilizing the Latest Technology

studioTECHNE is committed to keeping up-to-date with technology, and implementing relevant tech into our projects. As we collaborated with the Lee Road Library Branch to create a redevelopment strategy, our renovation included the implementation of technology to help patrons find information and improve overall efficiency. Through the elimination of service desks, our design solution applied a new, simpler model of service through the introduction of easily-identifiable information kiosks.

The Impact of Technology

As a result of the changes to Cleveland Heights Lee Road Library, the staff is able to process 40% more requests for assistance in 30% less time. Following the renovation, the Lee Road Library ranked 5th in the nation for circulation and patron assistance.

Improving the Quality of Space

Not only did renovations to the library increase the efficiency of their operations; but, we also developed the interior to improve the patrons' experience while learning and collaborating. Through a dynamic process of community engagement and the director's vision to expand the traditional role of a library, we were able to include a cafe, reading lounge, meeting spaces, classrooms, performing arts spaces, visual arts spaces, and a family area with a parents center and toy-lending library.
